Comics from Around the Galaxy: May 2, 2018

It’s a new week so that means new comics on the way! Lets dive in to see what is happening in the world of Star Wars comics.

Star Wars #47

Star Wars #47

Mon Cala liberation is still the hot topic in Star Wars comics. This month we see our heroes continue their operation inside of the opera.

“The Rebellion’s fight to liberate Mon Cala continues! While Han, Luke and Leia undertake a perilous and nigh-impossible rescue, Threepio must keep up his vital mission…of hobnobbing at the opera?!”

This current story line has been a lot of fun showing a different side of our heroes. We do not typically see this group on a mission that involves so much espionage. Having them infiltrate Imperial operations at a more social event has been interesting.

Star Wars Han Solo Hardcover

Han Solo HC

To benefit off of the release of Han Solo: A Star Wars Story Marvel is collecting the mini series “Han Solo” that they released in 2016. If you didn’t get the chance to pick this up in single issues now is your chance.

It was a great quick story about what Han does best, flying. It also helped cover the early days of Han Solo learning to help the Rebellion at large.

“Everyone’s favorite scoundrel goes Solo! Han is given a top-secret undercover mission for the Rebellion: rescuing a group of informants and spies! His cover for the assignment? The Dragon Void, biggest and most infamous starship race in the galaxy! A tournament he has dreamt of winning his entire life. With a chance for glory square in his sights, can Han keep his mind on the mission? Or is failing Leia worse than losing his chance? Place your bets for the ultimate space race! Our money’s on Han and the Millennium Falcon – after all, it’s the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs! Plus: A face from Han’s past returns – right when he and Leia least expect it! Who is Sana, and what’s her relationship to Mr. Solo? Collecting HAN SOLO #1-5 and STAR WARS (2015) #8-12.”
