Women of the Galaxy Book on the Way

StarWars.com broke the news that Amy Ratcliffe is writing a book featuring women from every corner of Star Wars media that will hit stores in October.

“Featuring Leia Organa, Rey, Ahsoka Tano, Jyn Erso, Rose Tico, Maz Kanata, and many more — including characters from Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars Resistance — the book gathers 75 profiles with text by Ratcliffe and all-new, incredible artwork from 18 talented female and non-binary artists. The amazing lineup of illustrators includes Alice X. Zhang, Amy Beth Christenson, Annie Stoll, Annie Wu, Christina Chung, Cryssy Cheung, Eli Baum, Elsa Charretier, Geneva B., Jen Aberin Johnson, Jen Bartel, Jenny Parks, Karen Hallion, Little Corvus, Sara Alfageeh, Sara Kipin, Sarah Wilkinson, and Viviane Tanner.”

Fans may recognize Amy’s name from their Twitter feed as one of the more active journalist in the Star Wars fandom.  Amy Ratcliffe is currently the managing editor for Nerdist and also occasionally contributes to StarWars.com. It is refreshing to see a Star Wars fan as big as Amy get attached to a book like this.

This announcement shows the continued dedication Disney has had to it’s female Star Wars characters since purchasing Lucasfilm. As some who has young daughter I love all the content they are putting out about these characters.

Will you be picking up this book when it releases in October? Do you want to see more content like this in the future? Sound off in the comments.
