Comics From Around the Galaxy: June 27, 2018

Some of the best scoundrels in the galaxy headline this week in Star Wars comics!

Doctor Aphra #21

Aphra continues her time in Imperial prison this month as the “Broken Inside” arc rolls on.  Last month’s issue was rather slow due to the set up of the Imperial prison but this arc does have a lot of potential to introduce some interesting characters which is what this book as done best over its entire run.

“BROKEN, INSIDE’ CONTINUES! Doctor Aphra may be in Imperial prison, but she’s certainly not alone. Rumors have it that these bars are haunted, but this rogue archaeologist knows there’s something much more valuable going on. Meanwhile, Aphra’s got information–information that the Rebellion wants. But how far are they willing to go–and who are they willing to recruit – in order to get it?”

Lando: Double or Nothing #2 (of 5)

Lando continued to be the Star Wars character with the strongest mini-series to date with the release of issue one of this book last month. Coming right off the release of Solo: A Star Wars story fans were craving more Lando and this book delivered just in time.

“Lando Calrissian isn’t one to stick his neck out…unless there’s credits to be had for it. So, when he finds himself fighting for oppressed workers in a droid junkyard, they’d better hope their freedom is worth something to him…”

Even though Lando is the star of this book the real stand out for me from issue one was L3. She was one of the highlights of the Han Solo movie so to see her get more attention is great. With this month’s issue focusing on Lando fighting for workers in a droid junkyard we are sure to get some good L3 content.
