The Last Jedi Takes Home Three Saturn Awards

In a move that I am sure is already filling your feed with angry Star Wars “fans” the Saturn Awards awarded Star Wars: The Last Jedi with three awards last night in their 44th annual award show. Last Jedi walked away with awards for best writing, best actor, and best editing.

Saturn Awards are given out by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror films. The award show was created to give sci-fi films recognition that they normally do not receive from the Academy Awards. The awards show has evolved over the years to include TV as well.

The Last Jedi winning these awards does come at a little bit of a surprise to me. This is not because I think the movie is awful but the competition it had in the categories it won was stiff. The Last Jedi beat out the likes of Bladerunner 2049, Shape of Water, and Get Out.

What are your thoughts on The Last Jedi picking up these awards? Well deserved? Let me know in the comments.
